Courses

Central Oregon Diving, LLC offers a variety of PADI courses from Bubblemaker for kids 8 and up thru Assistant Instructor.  The Open Water Certification is the first step toward a lifelong enjoyment under the water.  Open Water Diver Certification takes a couple of weeks to complete.  We offer Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Scuba Review and a variety of specialties.  Inquire at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more details on a group class or private lessons.  PADI eLearning is another way to do the academic portion of the class and then you can join a scheduled course or a private class.  There are many options to suit your needs and schedules.  To sign up for a class, you need to come in and speak with us as there is course materials for each class and deposits to secure your space.  We look forward to meeting with you!

This first class will teach you how to set up your camera and gain an understanding of photo composition underwater. NO CAMERA NECESSARY. NO DIVE CERTIFICATION required for this classroom course.

  • Software options for editing UW pictures
  • Introduction to UW light theory

Recommended: Camera with housing, NOT required. If you bring a camera, we will work with setting you to set up your camera, if one of the options above. Additional help with other cameras is available for private session. All of these cameras are point and shoot or micro 4/3.
 
We are running this class on at two different times to accommodate as many people as possible.

Here is a great course that is FUN and very informative! Have you ever thought about how your equipment works? This is a great specialty course to help answer those questions. Have you ever thought of becoming a dive professional? This course is for every diver! This is a course that is done over 2 nights of practical application that gets into hands-on interaction.

You wouldn't want to miss a dive due to minor issues with your scuba equipment. The PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You'll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.

If you’re at least 10 years old and certified as a PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver or higher, you can enroll in the Equipment Specialist course.

This course also teaches you about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment suggestions.

Cost for this class is $200, there is NO pre-studying for this course. IF you own your own diving gear (Wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, boots, regulator, BCD, computer, gear bag etc.) bring it to class with you. You must pre-register for this course.

Referral Course-

This is an independent study class. Please have completed all of the 5 chapters in the manual, all of the Knowledge Reviews, and computer simulator, and have watched the training DVD-- before coming to the first class meeting. As a respect for everyone's time and to keep this as a fun learning course please try to be respectful of the time schedules as outlined. This is a FUN learning experience for all!

CENTRAL OREGON DIVING SCUBA SCHEDULE (December)

Thursday – December 12th– 5:30 PM to 10:00PM meet at Central Oregon Diving shop for Academics Chapters 1 – 5 and Final Exam.

Sunday – December 15th– 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM meet at Central Oregon Diving and then to pool JSFC 11:30-5:30

Sunday –December 22nd– 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM meet at Central Oregon Diving and then to pool JSFC 10:30-5:30

This course is a referral class. You can do your academics and confined water training, then you have a year to complete the open water dives. You can finish in a fabulous location, or refer back to us in the spring to complete your dives. We also offer a trip to Roatan in the spring to complete your open water dives with our instructors.

The course price includes all of your scuba rental equipment for confined water training. Required PERSONAL items for this class are: Dive Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and Booties. ELearning students also must purchase a training log book. We have SPECIAL student discounted packages that are available to you at a discount. You might also consider purchasing a mouthpiece for your training regulator. As a dive student you will receive a 10% off on NON- MSRP items for 90 days after your dive training. (Please beware of equipment bargains and online purchases!)

Have you been out of the water for more than 6 months and need to refresh your skills in the pool before you travel this summer. We are doing a few hour scuba review to go over your skills in the pool. Come in to sign up for this class. You need to have the scuba tune up book, if you already own one - no need to purchase again. Class cost is $99 and if you need the book it is $26.95. If you need to rent equipment we offer a discounted rate for this course of $35. Get your skills refreshed before you travel and be a confident diver. Don't waste time on your vacation get this done here first, so you can enjoy your time on vacation diving!

Pre-requisite to the class is taking the first intro course or an in-depth understanding of your equipment and underwater theory. Our Second introduction class will not introduce the set-up or deal with initial set up issues. This second class will work the PADI manual, but no knowledge reviews or certifications will be provided in this class.
 
This class requires that you are an OW Certified diver, Underwater camera with housing and scuba gear, scuba rental is available for $40 for the day.
 
This class is a 2 Tank dive in the pool with practical applications of photography.
 
Class schedule will be as follows

  • 12:00-1:15 Shooting scenes underwater
  • 1:45-2:30 Photo Critique @ COD
  • 3:00-4:00 Shooting scenes at JSFC
  • 4:30-5:00 Photo Critique @ COD
