This is an independent study class. Please have completed all of the 5 chapters in the manual, all of the Knowledge Reviews, and computer simulator, and have watched the training DVD-- before coming to the first class meeting. As a respect for everyone's time and to keep this as a fun learning course please try to be respectful of the time schedules as outlined. This is a FUN learning experience for all!

CENTRAL OREGON DIVING SCUBA SCHEDULE (JULY)

Thursday – July 11th– 5:30 PM to 10:00PM meet at Central Oregon Diving shop for Academics Chapters 1 – 5 and Final Exam.

Saturday – July 13th– 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM meet at Central Oregon Diving and then to pool JSFC 11:30-5:30

Sunday –July 14th– 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM meet at Central Oregon Diving and then to pool JSFC 10:30-5:30

Saturday –July 20th– 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Open Water dive training at local lake

Sunday – July 21st – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Open Water dive training at local lake

The course price includes all of your scuba rental equipment for both confined water and open water training. Required PERSONAL items for this class are: Dive Mask, Snorkel, Fins, and Booties. ELearning students must also purchase a log book. We have SPECIAL student discounted packages that are available to you at a discount. You might also consider purchasing a mouthpiece for your training regulator. As a dive student you will receive a 10% off on NON- MSRP items for 90 days after your dive training. (Please beware of equipment bargains and online purchases!)

Have you been out of the water for more than 6 months and need to refresh your skills in the pool before you travel this summer. We are doing a few hour scuba review to go over your skills in the pool. Come in to sign up for this class. You need to have the scuba tune up book, if you already own one - no need to purchase again. Class cost is $99 and if you need the book it is $26.95. If you need to rent equipment we offer a discounted rate for this course of $30. Get your skills refreshed before you travel and be a confident diver. Don't waste time on your vacation get this done here first, so you can enjoy your time on vacation diving!

In conjunction with PADI Women Dive Day we are inviting everyone to participate and help clean up ELK LAKE. 

Pre-registration and this event is FREE! Rental is HALF PRICE for on this day!! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED we will offer anyone a PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Certification for $200.00 (discounted rate). If you have already completed one dive in a previous Advanced Open Water Course, then we can do the additional dive to make the specialty at a discounted rate of $125. ALSO we are offering a Dive Against Debris Specialty 1 Tank dive for $135. This course gives you the knowledge to catalog and weigh the debris that is collected and dispose of properly. These above courses count toward your Master Scuba Diver Certification. These are FUN ways to learn some great dive skills AND do some good at one of our beautiful local lakes! 
This is a great way to help clean up our local lake and earn a Specialty card for a great value! Pre-registration for certification specialty is required and knowledge reviews completed prior to dive day.. 

Please sign up at the shop- Rental is $55 for the day with 2 Tanks.

Come for the day and enjoy the beautiful lake. Join us for a drink at the resort after we count all the debris.

Pre-registration is required and this event is FREE! Rental is $30 for women on this day!! What is good buoyancy underwater?
Excellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled scuba divers. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. They more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. You can achieve this, too. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course improves the buoyancy skills you learned as a new diver and elevates them to the next level. This course helps you feel more confident in your dive skills underwater. This is a 2 tank specialty and one of the most important for every diver!

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 10 years old, are eligible to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

 

 

During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

  • Determine the exact weight you need, so you’re not too light or too heavy.
  • Trim your weight system and scuba gear so you’re perfectly balanced in the water.
  • Streamline to save energy, use air more efficiently and move more smoothly through the water.
  • Hover effortlessly in any position – vertical or horizontal.
